ERA Tour rankings track individual player performance throughout the season and determine qualification for the Texas Finale Showdown.
Rankings are based on individual players — not teams.
Each player earns their own points regardless of partner.
Separate leaderboards exist for:
• Gender Doubles
• Mixed Doubles
• Singles
Across all skill divisions (3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, OPEN).
Players accumulate ranking points through:
• Tournament placement results
• Division field size multipliers
• Participation bonuses
Rankings determine:
• Texas Finale Showdown eligibility
• Finals seeding position
• Overall leaderboard placement
The top 16 ranked players per division earn an invitation to the Texas Finale.
Players earn ranking points based on three key factors:
All players receive 50 points per event entered.
Points are awarded based on final tournament finish:
• 1st Place — 1000 points
• 2nd Place — 800 points
• 3rd Place — 600 points
• 4th Place — 400 points
• 5th–8th Place — 200 points
• 9th–16th Place — 100 points
Points depend on bracket size:
• 4–11 Teams — x0.50
• 12–15 Teams — x0.75
• 16–23 Teams — x1.00
• 24+ Teams — x1.25
Larger divisions reward higher performance due to increased competition.
The ERA Tour encourages player progression while maintaining competitive fairness.
When you move up to a higher division:
• 75% of your current division points carry over into the new division leaderboard.
• Your previous division results remain recorded for historical standings.
Example:
If you have 1000 points in 3.0 and move to 3.5:
You begin the 3.5 rankings with 750 carryover points.
Once you compete in a higher division during the season:
• You may NOT move back down to a lower division.
• Players may only continue upward progression.
This prevents division manipulation and protects competitive integrity.
If you move up more than once:
• Carryover applies only to your CURRENT division points at the time of promotion.
• Points do not stack from earlier divisions.
Qualification for the Texas Showdown in November is determined by individual ERA Tour rankings throughout the season.
• The top 16 ranked players in each division earn an invitation to compete in the Texas Finale Showdown.
Rankings are tracked separately across:
• Gender Doubles
• Mixed Doubles
• Singles
Within each skill division (3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, OPEN).
To maintain competitive integrity:
• At least 50% of a player’s qualifying points must be earned in their CURRENT division.
This ensures Finals qualification reflects performance at your active competitive level.
If a selected Finals partner is already within the qualifying rankings:
• Their existing ranking position remains unchanged.
• The next highest-ranked eligible player will receive an invitation.
This process continues down the rankings until the full Finals field of teams is completed.
Qualified players earn the right to select their partner for the Texas Showdown Finale.
A selected partner must:
• Have competed in at least one ERA Tour event during the season
• Meet division rating requirements
Higher-ranked players receive better seeding positions for the Texas Showdown Finale.
This means:
• Stronger season performance leads to favorable bracket positioning
• Higher seeds may face lower-seeded opponents in early rounds
If a qualified player cannot secure an eligible partner:
• An alternate partner may be approved at the discretion of the Tournament Director.
